Moby unveils 12 arm tattoos proclaiming Animal Rights

A celebration of 32 years as a Vegan

The dance music star is celebrating 32 years as a vegan by getting the words “Animal Rights” tattooed onto his arms. To celebrate the event “I thought I’d get a tattoo (well, technically 12 tattoos) to celebrate. I’m a vegan animal rights activist for many reasons, but ultimately because I believe at the core of my being that every animal has the right to live their own life, according to their own will”.

He posted the message yesterday, along with supporting photograph on his Facebook and Instagram pages.

Moby who has sold 20 million records worldwide is widely considered to be one of the most important dance music figures from the early 1990s. He has brought dance music to a mainstream audience in both the USA and UK.

Animal Rights is Moby’s life work

But Richard Melville Hall to give Moby his real name is rapidly becoming as well known as an animal rights activist and confirmed vegan. Nobody could possibly doubt his total commitment, above and beyond.

As will be apparent from the photograph the word “ANIMAL” in upper case letters adorns his right arm, and “RIGHTS” adorns his left arm. No room for any doubt about Moby’s views then.

Social media comments have been vociferous in its admiration for Moby’s hardcore commitment.

PETA commented: “We LOVE it! Your dedication to helping animals is far beyond the commitment to this tattoo”.

The artwork is by Miami Ink star Kat Von D who is also vegan.

Two months ago Moby shared his previous tattoo proclaiming “VEGAN FOR LIFE” on the side of his neck. As he observed at the time it was a pretty safe bet that he would now continue the discipline for life having got this far. “Working for animal rights and animal liberation is my life’s work”.

The musician owns a vegan eatery in the Silver Lake district of Los Angeles called Little Pine which serves Mediterranean-style vegan dishes. He is also  the founder of the vegan music and food festival Circle V, and actively supports Mercy for Animals, an animal protection charity.

54-year-old Moby is a one-man vegan activist hurricane.
